Editor’s Note: Surrender. Should we sit here and try to unpack that word together? We’d be here for a while, wouldn’t we? To cut to the chase, Merriam Webster defines “Surrender” this way, “to give up completely or agree to forgo especially in favor of another”. Though the Bible doesn’t give us a word for word definition for surrender, we can very clearly see a theme of relinquishing all control to the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Surrender can look a little different on everyone you meet. Our circumstances will tend to require us to give up our lives in a new way with every new season. One thing we do know for sure? The second we stop fighting what we fear and surrender our own plans, we free fall into God’s divine plan to develop and sanctify us from the inside. We’ve consolidated 10 of our favorite prayers for a surrendered life from I Give Up by Laura Story (and there’s more where these came from!). We’re even hosting an Online Bible Study with Laura from her book and curriculum, I Give Up. We’re going to take steps towards discovering the secret joy to a surrendered life together. We get started on October 7th and hope you’ll accept our invitation to join the study, too! Register today!

Father, I’m acting on the belief that You are who You say You are and that You can do what You say You can do, regardless of my circumstances. Amen.
