From Good Day to X-Ray: Forrest Frank Breaks His Back and Drops a New Track
Fresh off the record-breaking Child of God tour, it seemed to be a casual day in the Frank household—until it wasn’t.
In what can only be described as the most tragically adorable accident ever caught on a front door cam, Forrest Frank, the lo-fi CCM trailblazer, took a gnarly skateboard spill right in his own driveway. The video, which has since gone viral, is both graphic and somehow… heartwarming? Forrest hits the pavement hard… and then, like a moment straight out of a Pixar short film, his toddler rushes over to check on him and keeps bragging about helping his dad.
Despite obvious pain, Forrest kept his composure like a true Texan, calmly telling his wife that something was definitely wrong.
Spoiler: it was.

“Dads, this is your sign to get off the stick,” Forrest posted afterward. “It was just a casual session with my 2 year old so I didn’t even think to put a helmet on (hindsight is 20/20). Thankful to God that it wasn’t any worse. Multiple fractures to L3 & L4. Will be laying in bed for a while….so sorry Grace.”
But leave it to Forrest Frank to turn even a bad day into something good.

Just days later, lying flat on his back, Forrest released a sample of a new song—literally from bed. It might be the most hilariously spiritual hook of the year:
“God’s Got My Back.”
The injury is no joke—L3 and L4 fractures are serious business. We’ll continue to pray for full healing, of course. But let this moment serve as a testament to his drive and his calling. God didn’t just give him a platform—He gave him a posture.
And right now, that posture is reclined.
There’s something about Forrest that CCM doesn’t see every day. Maybe it’s the swagger and that smirk that persists through the pain.
And Forrest, if you’re reading this—heal up. We need you to keep being groundbreaking… but maybe don’t take us so literally next time!
To answer your question.. we opted to not do a “he was up, but now he’s down” joke.
