August 14, 2025 / Comments Off on Crowder Suffers Leg Injury and Undergoes Emergency Surgery

Contemporary Christian music artist David Crowder recently shared on Instagram that he has suffered a serious leg injury resulting in emergency surgery. “I’m not nearly as athletic as I thought I was,” Crowder wrote in the post, accompanied by a photo of himself in a hospital gown and leg brace. “I’ve broken my leg and had to have emergency surgery including some plates and screws.” The unexpected injury appears to have sidelined the artist temporarily, though he did not provide details on how the incident occurred or the extent of the damage. Sources close to Crowder say he is in recovery and is in good spirits despite the setback. The…

August 14, 2025 / Comments Off on NRT Music Signs Singer/Songwriter Psalms of David

NRT Music is proud to announce the signing of Christian singer/songwriter Ethan David, who writes and records under the artist name Psalms of David. His powerful debut single under the new partnership, “He Loves You,” released everywhere on August 8, 2025. A native of Austin, Psalms of David is no stranger to the wilderness of pain–and no stranger to the God who walks people out of it. His raw honesty and emotional depth mark every lyric, with “He Loves You” standing as a heartfelt cry from the trenches to the broken and wandering. Sung from the perspective of a brother who knows what it’s like to feel unseen, unloved, and…

“In my weakness, You always make me strong. All I wanna do now is praise You all day long.” In these soul-stirring lines, Chuck Girard captured the essence of what would become his life’s work: the raw honesty of weakness transformed by strength, and a heart entirely devoted to praise. On August 11, 2025, Girard entered his eternal home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy that helped shape the very foundation of Contemporary Christian Music. Steve Taylor: The Monstrous Journey of Making a Monster Movie

August 8, 2025 / Comments Off on Steve Taylor: The Monstrous Journey of Making a Monster Movie

When we launched the CCM Pop Culture & Oddities Archive, we needed something unforgettable to kick things off. Thankfully, Steve Taylor donated a very unique item back from his Squint tour. It’s an eery relic that now has a permanent home in our collection. But Steve didn’t just drop off a piece of Christian rock history. He stopped by to talk about the new movie he produced SKETCH which is out now in over 2,000 theaters across the country. Produced by Taylor and directed by Seth Worley, SKETCH is a deeply creative, visually rich, and emotional film.   “Seth Worley, the writer-director, has been a longtime friend, and I’ve collaborated with him since…

Steven Curtis Chapman: “Speechless’ Finds its Voice at 25 – Cover Story

August 7, 2025 / Comments Off on Steven Curtis Chapman: “Speechless’ Finds its Voice at 25 – Cover Story

The label G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) gets thrown around a lot these days, usually pinned to whoever’s trending or collecting the most streams that week. But legends of the moment aren’t the same as Hall of Famers. Enter Steven Curtis Chapman. He walks humbly into our studio for the first time since Amanda and I took over the reins of a magazine he’s practically synonymous with. There’s no weirdness, no distance. He’s happy to be here and ready to talk about the upcoming celebration of the 1999 landmark record Speechless.     Steven arrived straight from rehearsals across town for the anniversary tour, and he lit up as he…

Sounds like Teen Spirit: Brandon Lake & Phil Wickham’s Summer Worship Nights Review

August 6, 2025 / Comments Off on Sounds like Teen Spirit: Brandon Lake & Phil Wickham’s Summer Worship Nights Review

Hi, I’m Macy — I’m 13 years old and live in Nashville, Tennessee. Worship music is a big part of my life, and Wednesday nights at youth group are some of my favorite times because of the music. When our worship leaders sing songs by Brandon Lake or Phil Wickham, it instantly takes you to another level of worship. The melodies and lyrics they’ve written make you want to lift your hands, jump up and down, and worship the Lord with all your heart. So, when my mom told me that Summer Worship Nights was coming to Bridgestone Arena on July 20, I knew we had to go. Let me just say: Brandon…

    Gain Right Perspective

August 5, 2025 / Comments Off on Gain Right Perspective

I was driving, but I couldn’t see. My glasses were smudged. Gray smudges blurred the lenses through which I saw life. I tried redirecting my eyes—look toward the yellow and white lines. Still, I kept going back to the splotch. When vision is blocked, moving forward is hard. A blind person can’t easily move ahead. Think about times you’ve encountered these situations: Snow on your windshield… Rain pouring down… A fogged-up front window… How can you go when you can’t see? You know, spiritual blindness is much like natural blindness. We get so caught up in something that we can’t see God in anything. Offense smudges our perspective of love.…

Exclusive Interview: Michael W. Smith Reimagines His Place in the Music World

August 2, 2025 / Comments Off on Exclusive Interview: Michael W. Smith Reimagines His Place in the Music World

“I’m writing it for me,” Michael said without hesitation when I asked who he’s composing for these days. “I’ve never tried to write a song for Christian radio or pop radio in my whole life.” If you’re waiting for a new song so you can take a restroom and refill run during the 2025 Michael W. Smith tour, then you’ve picked the wrong show. That is, at least according to the man himself: “I’m not going to play it safe.” With the 2025 releases of Your Love Is a Flood and Arms Around the Sun, he’s crafting layer upon layer in the studio that feels more in line with becoming…

    Well Done, Dodie Osteen

August 1, 2025 / Comments Off on Well Done, Dodie Osteen

“A faithful servant of God, a matriarch of miracles, and a friend to us all.” At CCM Magazine, we join millions around the world in honoring the remarkable life of Dolores “Dodie” Osteen—beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished matriarch of Lakewood Church. Affectionately known as “Mama Dodie,” she spent 91 years on this side of heaven, living a life defined by faith, miracles, and unwavering compassion. Alongside her husband John Osteen, Dodie helped start Lakewood Church. She and John were partners in every sense. Dodie once recalled with a smile, “I had never gone out with anybody else. I didn’t know how to act. I called him, Brother Osteen this and…
