Written for his children, the cinematic confession reveals the newcomer, best known for co-writing CeCe Winans’ “That’s My King,” breaking generational cycles in an effort to be the kind of father he never had. With his own dad incarcerated for most of his life, the St. Louis native experienced a tumultuous father-son dynamic. The piano-led, string-laden ballad soars on the strength of poignant emotion and pristine vocals as the emerging artist vows to do whatever is required to be a healthy, present, loving parent for his kids.
