Gaither at 90: I Don’t Sing Old Songs. I Sing Songs That Deserve to Live
Early in my chat with Bill Gaither, he jokes about aging alongside his audience. Because as he turns 90, he’s celebrating something far rarer in the music business. The longevity of the mission. This interview, tied to his Homecoming celebration and the new I Go to the Rock release, is about understanding why his songs, and his audience, never left. Below are some of the most powerful moments from our conversation. I encourage everyone to watch the full half hour interview to learn more about one of Christian music’s hero. Kendrick Brothers to Release Flywheel Sequel
The Kendrick Brothers return to where it all began with Flywheel Ignition of the Soul, the long-awaited sequel to their 2003 debut film Flywheel, continuing the story that launched their filmmaking journey. Alex Kendrick, who founded Kendrick Brothers Productions with his brother Stephen in 2013, wrote on the Flywheel Facebook page that Flywheel was the story that “launched the Kendrick Brothers’ global film ministry” and that the new version reimagines and remakes the original movie. “We’ve waited a long time…

Rock band Ashes Remain has announced their upcoming “What I’ve Become” tour that kicks off this April in Nashville. The tour is named for their 2011 album, celebrating its 15-year anniversary. They are joined by special guest Stephen Stanley, the singer-songwriter behind “No Hopeless Soul.” What I’ve Become explores remembering mistakes, feeling desperation, and ultimately finding hope in Christ. The Place of “Place”
I grew up on the Texas plains, a bland background I didn’t appreciate at the time. But one grand view on a clear evening lingers in my memory: the Dallas skyline, blazing up out of low purple ridges against a gaudy sunset. Since then I’ve moved around a lot and developed a taste for geography:… The post The Place of “Place” appeared first on Redeemed Reader.
