Last week, Michael W. Smith shared on social media that his mom, Barbara Smith, passed away. “I watched my mom take her final breath as the song ‘All Is Well’ ended. Exact same thing happened when my dad crossed over in November 2015,” Michael posted. “A bittersweet day… But so thrilled for my mom. She is extraordinary on so many levels. In a recent post on Instagram, the Newsboys announced the official end to Newsboys UNITED. Newsboys UNITED is made up of Peter, Phil, Tait, Duncan, Jeff, and Jody. Following their summer shows, Phil and Peter will be pursuing their own paths apart from the band. Newsboys will then consist of the latter four members for all upcoming tours and albums.
