Hope for the Hurting

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” —2 Corinthians 4:16-18

…”Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

We may never understand why we suffer.  We MUST trust that God is good and sovereign. This should bring us joy and hope in our greatest times of need.

“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” —1 Peter 1:6-7
