Pillar Rolls out the Red Carpet for Movie Premiere

It’s been a long time since Pillar was blasting out car windows and youth group sound systems across America — but for those who never stopped headbanging to “Fireproof,” there’s some big news on the horizon. After roaring back to the stage in 2024 for their first shows in over a decade, the Christian rock heavyweights have announced something for fans old and new to rally behind: a full-length documentary called Pillar: Beyond the Frontline, with a red-carpet premiere on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the House of Blues in Dallas, TX. After the documentary rolls, fans will get a full Pillar concert — with fellow rock veterans Spoken opening the night.

What makes this project extra special is the director — Kaden Wittig, the son of founding member and bassist Michael “Kalel” Wittig. Kaden’s practically had backstage passes since birth, riding tour buses back in the early 2000s while the band was building its reputation as one of Christian rock’s loudest, proudest voices.

“The band has always been part of my life. I remember being a kid and riding around on their tour bus back in the 2000s.” Kaden shares. “When their comeback tour started to come together, my dad and I were talking about what a great opportunity this would be to tell the story of not just the reunion, but the history of the band and the guys and everything leading up to this moment.”

For anyone who wore out their copy of Where Do We Go from Here or caught the band at a festival back in the day, Beyond the Frontline promises a nostalgic punch. The film will dig into untold stories from a lineup that defined a generation of Christian rock: Rob Beckley (vocals), Michael “Kalel” Wittig (bass), Noah Henson (guitars), and Lester Estelle Jr. (drums). It’s not just about backstage shenanigans and shredding solos — it’s about the message that’s kept the band’s heart beating for over 25 years.

“This documentary is going to be powerful for anyone who knows Pillar, but I also think it’s going to touch people who don’t know us. The stories from fans and how our music touched their lives is what moves me the most,” Michael “Kalel” Wittig explains. “People are going to see four men who greatly appreciate this opportunity God has given us to do what we do. It’s not something we take for granted.”

Mark your calendars, break out your old band tees and maybe a tuxedo t-shirt, and get ready to stand your ground — Pillar is ready to show us what’s beyond the frontline.
