3 Ways to Speak Life Into Others
“What’s wrong with you?”“Why can’t you be better?”“Why do you always?” If you are a mom or dad, you’ve probably spoken a statement you’ve regretted. We’ve all been there. I’m not one to critique; I’ve said some pretty horrible things to my husband, like: “You always. . . ” “Why don’t you ever. . . ” Plus, some unmentionable statements spoken under my breath (which I won’t get into). I’m not proud of this. Why? Because words reflect one’s heart. “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.” (Mt. 15:18) My words don’t only damage others, they damage me. Untimed and uncontrolled words…

My Conversation with God About Donuts
My Conversation with God About Donuts I just had one of the most insightful and meaningful conversations with God. You guys, He is so practical. I can’t even tell you. I was talking to Him about my binge on Krispy Kreme donuts last night. And He didn’t condemn me. He actually told me why I did it. I had worked super hard the day before, didn’t get sleep, and had an important meeting in the morning. I was utterly exhausted. He told me I needed a reward and release from the stress of that work. That good work. God work. And so…in a moment of needing rest & reward, I…

Nashville, TN (February 25, 2019) Bethel Music’s Amanda Lindsey Cook stepped away from the spotlight this past year “leaning into the resting place that sound comes from.” However, she recently posted on her social media an intimate, hand-written letter to fans (below) documenting her time away, stating “I may have some things to say in the coming year.” Does this mean new music is in the works? 7eventh Time Down ‘Brand New Day’ Review
7eventh Time DownBrand New Day (BEC Recordings) Pop maestros 7eventh Time Down are back with their fourth studio album, Brand New Day, and fortunately for their fans, they haven’t changed the popular approach that’s brought them here. To date, 7TD has excelled in creating fun, loud pop anthems that are perfect for radio, and on Brand New Day, they’ve done it again. The star of the record is “The 99,” a clap-along jam that will make everybody want to get up and move. The song, which calls to mind the story of Jesus leaving the 99 sheep in pursuit of the one that’s gone astray, is a powerful reminder Christ’s…

2019 CCM Fan Awards!

It’s been a few years since we’ve asked our audience to participate in any kind of CCM Magazine Reader’s Choice/Fan Awards type survey…and we thought it’s about time we brought it back! The last time we did a really big promotion for this in 2008 Family Force 5 was the big winner placing Top 3 or higher in several categories, including Best/Favorite Artist/Group of The…

The First Step to a Sacred Pace
Step 1: Consult Your Friend Jesus If my life proves anything, it’s that we often approach the Lord with our minds already made up. In those instances, we’re actually not engaging Jesus at all; we’re asking Him to sign off on our wishes. I’m not saying we do this consciously, but it’s very easy to… The post The First Step to a Sacred Pace appeared first on FaithGateway.

Trusting God: The Year I Spent with My Head in the Clouds
I was performing a skit I wrote for a summer camp crowd of nearly three hundred students, ages twelve to eighteen, on a stage in a large room that resembled a log cabin nestled in the mountains of Colorado. Suddenly someone handed me an urgent message on a Post-it note asking me to call my… The post Trusting God: The Year I Spent with My Head in the Clouds appeared first on FaithGateway.

After taking the cup, He gave thanks… And He took the bread, and gave thanks and broke it… — Luke 22:17-19 We are changed when we give thanks and when we give thanks we are changed.
