Woman of God, you are worth it!

Being a woman of God is such a blessing! The amount of power that we hold as woman is incredible, though I must say I didn’t always think like this. When I first gave my life to Christ or even just growing up I didn’t quite understand the role of the woman and therefor I was mislead and have a lot of false assumptions which led me to believe and feel like I was less than and not as worthy as the males. Some of you might still feel this way and may not fully understand some things I’d first like to reassure you and let you know that this is false. You are just as worth it, as any male your value doesn’t decrease based on your gender. If anything being a woman is  a blessing and something we should embrace. Secondly for any questions that you may have please feel free to discuss it with someone who knows the word but also do your own research. What helped most was going through the bible myself and reading about the different women and how each of them had done amazing things.

Taking a look at the very first book of the bible the first lady to ever be mentioned is Eve. Usually when talking about Eve the topic at hand is sin, but i’d like to focus on these verses: 18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” 19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.But for Adam[f] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib[h] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.23 The man said,“This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman, for she was taken out of man.”24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Verse 18 says that it is not good for man to be alone, at first glance the word “man” could be seen as meaning mankind but if we continue the verse says “..suitable for HIM” therefore the word “man” in this case is talking about the males. Now, if it isn’t good for the men to be alone and God saw it fit to create females we can conclude that there is something special that the woman brings to the table in order for a man to not feel alone. Let’s be clear that the bible did not say another male or just another person but it precisely says in verse 21 “.. a woman from the rib.” Ladies understand this, there is something that you carry inside of you that is so powerful that when a man feels alone, if you were to just grace him with your presence that feeling disappears. You have this innate ability inside of you that only God can give embrace that, there is a reason why he gave it to us and he created us that way. Be proud that God would see fit to give us such an incredible super power.

The bible has so many powerful and impactful woman it’s so hard to chose just one but one that sticks out the most is Deborah. Deborah was a judge, a prophet, a poet and a military strategist, she’s the perfect example of all using the gifts God gave her to give him glory. Through her story you also realise that as woman we don’t need to stay stuck in one category and follow societal gender roles., but rather follow the path God has for us. I could go on and on about Deborah, the most important thing there is to retain from her story is that our role as woman isn’t only define by one thing, we can be as many different things as we like as long as God’s will is in it. Woman of God rise, don’t stay stuck in societal norms but follow God’s plan and watch how he blows your mind. You are valued and so worth it, so much so that Jesus died for you, so much so that God needed to create you so that the world could be that much better to live in. Never doubt yourself, believe in God and be fearless for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
